What is the Select Tool?

The Select Tool is your main way to interact with objects you've already drawn. Use it to select, move, resize, rotate, and organise your artwork. It's like having a magic pointer that lets you change anything on your canvas.

Basic Functions

1

Click on any object to select it

A blue box with handles appears around the selected object

2

Drag the object to move it around

The object follows your cursor or finger

3

Drag the corner handles to resize

Hold Shift to keep the same proportions

4

Drag the rotation knob above the object

The object rotates around its centre point

Common Questions

Why can't I select my drawing?

Make sure you have the Select Tool active (not another drawing tool). Also check that your object is actually a drawn shape and not part of the background.

How do I select everything at once?

Press Ctrl/Cmd+A or click and drag a selection rectangle around all the objects you want to select.

My object disappeared when I moved it!

It might have moved behind another object. Use the "Bring to Front" button in the toolbar to bring it forward.

Why can't I move/resize my object?

The object might be locked. Check if it has a lock indicator and use the unlock button or Ctrl/Cmd+L to unlock it.

Why does my object jump when I move it?

Grid snapping is probably turned on. The object snaps to the nearest grid point. You can turn off grid snapping in the grid settings.

I forgot my lock password!

Unfortunately, passwords cannot be recovered. You'll need to delete and recreate the locked objects if you can't remember the password.

How do I change the stroke width?

Select an object with a stroke (like a line or outlined shape) and use the stroke width controls that appear in the toolbar.
