Open Tool

Load an existing drawing from your device or cloud storage. Open keeps your current drawing safe by warning about unsaved changes before replacing the canvas.

How to open a drawing

  1. Click Open
    Press the Open button from the toolbar or file menu.
  2. Choose source
    Choose This Device, Browser, or the available Google Drive or OneDrive cloud option.
  3. Select your file
    Choose a compatible SVG drawing file. The app validates the content before loading it.
  4. Confirm replacement
    If you already have unsaved work, confirm the prompt first. Then the selected drawing is loaded into the canvas.

Open methods

From Device

Open files from your computer, tablet, or phone storage.

From Cloud

Open files from the MyDrawings folder of the signed-in Google Drive or OneDrive account.
Tip: If you open files regularly, sign in so recent cloud files are faster to access.
Quick Save: A drawing opened from browser or cloud storage keeps that destination, so later changes can be updated with Quick Save. Cloud drawings can also use Auto-save.
Important: Opening a file replaces the current canvas content. Save first if you want to keep your current work.
