Google Drive
Use your Google account (Gmail) to save drawings. Your files will be stored in a folder called "MyDrawings" in your Google Drive.
Save your drawings online and access them anywhere
Cloud storage lets you save your drawings on the internet, so you can open them from any device. It's like a magic backpack that follows you everywhere! You can save your artwork with Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, and your drawings will be safe even if something happens to your computer.
Click the Login button
Look for the button that says "Login" in the toolbar at the top
A sign-in dialogue box will appear
This is a special window that pops up in the centre of the screen
Choose your account type
Click either "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Microsoft"
Complete the sign-in process
You'll be redirected to Google or Microsoft to sign in securely
Enter your email and password when asked
You're signed in!
You'll return to the drawing app, and your name will appear in the toolbar where the Login button was
Closing the dialogue: You can close the sign-in dialogue by clicking the × button in the top corner, clicking outside the dialogue box, or pressing the Escape key on your keyboard.
Choosing a provider: Once you select Google or Microsoft, you'll see a brief message like "Redirecting to Google..." before being taken to their sign-in page.

Use your Microsoft account (Outlook, Hotmail) to save drawings. Your files will be stored in a folder called "SVGEditor" in your OneDrive.
Use Google: If you have a Gmail account or use Google services
Use Microsoft: If you have an Outlook, Hotmail, or school Microsoft account
Important: Stick with one provider! Drawings saved to Google won't appear in Microsoft and vice versa
Make sure you're signed in
Check that your name appears in the toolbar where the Login button was
Click the Save button
Look for the save icon in your toolbar
Choose "Save to Cloud"
This option will appear in the save menu
Name your drawing
Give it a name you'll remember like "My Rainbow Unicorn"
Click Save
Your drawing is now safe in the cloud!
Note: Google saves your drawings in a folder called "MyDrawings", whilst Microsoft saves them in a folder called "SVGEditor". These folders are created automatically in your cloud storage.
Make sure you're signed in
Check that your name appears in the toolbar where the Login button was
Click Open
Choose "Open from Cloud"
See all your saved drawings
They'll appear in a list with names and dates
Click on a drawing to open it
It will load right onto your canvas!
On your own device: You can stay signed in safely
On school or library computers: Always sign out when finished
When sharing a device: Sign out to protect your account
Click your name in the toolbar
This is where the Login button was before you signed in
A dropdown menu will appear
You'll see a menu with a option
Click "Log Out"
A dialogue will ask if you're sure you want to sign out
Confirm you want to sign out
Click "Log Out" in the confirmation dialogue
You're signed out!
The button will show "Login" again
Your local drawings are still safe on this device
Your drawings are safe even if your computer breaks

Stay signed in: You'll stay signed in until you sign out or clear your browser
Local backup: Your drawings are also saved locally on your device
No! Both Google Drive and OneDrive give you free storage space. You can save hundreds of drawings without paying anything.
You can switch between them, but it's easier to stick with one. Your drawings saved to Google won't appear in Microsoft and vice versa. They use different folders too: Google uses "MyDrawings" whilst Microsoft uses "SVGEditor".
Ask an adult to help you reset it. Both Google and Microsoft have ways to recover your account safely.
No, your drawings are private unless you specifically share them. They're only visible when you're signed in to your account.
You can still draw and save locally to your computer. When internet comes back, you can save to the cloud.
Yes! If your school uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, you can use that account to save your drawings.
When you're signed in, your name will appear in the toolbar where the "Login" button was. You can click on your name to see the sign-out menu.
When you sign out, you can't save to or open from the cloud, but all your local drawings stay on your device. The "Login" button will reappear in the toolbar.
